Ballycommon Training Centre is a shared co working facility located approximately 10 miles from Tullamore and close to the M6. We provide a number of hot desks, meeting rooms and conference facilities for businesses, entrepreneurs, students or individual needing office space. Facilities include state of the art ergonomic sit stand furniture, hot desks and dedicated desks, printing and photocopying facilities, 24/7 access and self-booking system, free onsite Parking, High Speed Internet, Meeting Room, Smart TV, Kitchen Facilities and accessible ground floor with ramp. We are located close to the local coffee shop Ballycommon Bakehouse.

ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION

BTTC CLG. is a rural social enterprise training centre (community services programme) working to provide training and services to marginalised and community groups throughout the greater Offaly area We do this by:

• Offering programmes and courses in Information Technology, Soft Skills and Skills for Work to marginalised and community groups

• Providing opportunities for marginalised groups to develop their literacy skills working in partnership to build the community's and service providers capacity to meet the needs of all types of business, trades, professions, and forms of employment.

• To provide an employment placement service in co-operation with local authorities to identified groups

We are also actively involved in educational projects, partnering with local organisations to provide opportunities for learning, skill development, and personal growth. In addition to these, we support the Community Employment Scheme (CE Scheme), offering valuable opportunities for local residents to gain work experience and contribute to the ongoing development of our vibrant community. Through these projects, we aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all.

COMMUNITY PROJECTS

As part of our community projects, we offer a variety of exciting opportunities for both kids and adults. We host a weekly robotics club we currently have 3 teams, 2 boy’s teams and 1 all girls team which run on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons 3:30 – 5:30pm for the boy’s teams, while the girl’s club is held on Thursday afternoon. Classes are open to primary school children between the ages of 8-12 the price for club membership is €20 per year and €5 per session thereafter, which includes early access to our kid’s camps. These additional kid’s camps are held during Easter, summer, and Halloween school breaks, activities included in these camps are robotics, coding with Scratch, stop-motion animation, green screen animation, Lego League, and more! The kids also compete in VEX Robotics competitions in partnership with Offaly County Council and have enjoyed much success, bringing home many awards. Additionally, we run a craft club designed specifically for older people from the community, providing a creative and social space for them to enjoy which brings together individuals to share skills, explore new crafts, and promote creativity within the community. Additionally, we offer meeting room hire, providing a flexible and welcoming space for local groups, businesses, and individuals to gather, collaborate, and plan. We also offer a weekly IT Drop-In Clinic every Friday from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, providing members of the community with assistance for phone and computer issues. Whether you're struggling with software updates, email access, slow devices, printing or general tech problems, our tutors are here to help.

Join us for fun activities specifically designed for seniors every Tuesday from 11am to 1pm at Dun Eochla, located beside Ballycommon Training Centre. As an added convenience, we offer a free pickup and drop-off service to ensure easy transportation. These engaging sessions provide a wonderful opportunity to socialize and participate in enjoyable group activities. Come and experience the camaraderie of great company as we foster a warm and inclusive atmosphere for seniors to connect, reconnect with old friends, and make new ones. We invite you to join us for a delightful cup of tea and a friendly chat, creating cherished memories together.

MEALS ON WHEELS

As part of the Community Services Programme, Ballycommon Technology and Training Centre Ltd, in conjunction with the Health Services Executive, provides a "Meals on Wheels" service for people in Ballycommon, Cappincur and surrounding areas.

This confidential service, available to people who are living alone, households consisting solely of older people and those recuperating from illness or at a point in time when they are not in a position to prepare/have a dinner prepared in their home. The service is provided six days a week i.e. Monday to Saturday inclusive and consists of a dinner - main course with and option of either soup or desert for which a sum of €5.00 per day is payable. (generally collected at the end of each week).

Meals are delivered between 12.30pm and 1.45pm each day. It is not necessary to take a meal every day and we would be delighted to cater for people who require a meal only a few days a week or those who may require short term service.
