Vex Robotics Competition

Vex Robotics Competition

Our three robotics teams entered the Vex Robotics Competition on Friday 7th of February in Tullamore GAA Centre. 17 teams took part in the event.

With our girls’ team making their first appearance in the competition and delivered an outstanding performance, finishing in an impressive 3rd place overall. Their determination and teamwork shone through as they played their way through all their matches.

Our Wednesday robotics class also had a fantastic run, securing 1st place in the qualification matches. Despite narrowly missing out on the top spot in the final, finishing in 2nd place overall, their efforts were rewarded as they took home the Design Award, recognising their creativity with the robot they built.

The Wednesday team has now qualified for the National VEX Robotics Championship, set to take place in Cork on February 27th 2025. This achievement marks another milestone for our robotics program as we enter the event for the first time, and we couldn’t be prouder of all our teams for their hard work and dedication.

As they prepare for the national championship, we wish them the very best of luck
